Do you find it hard to assert yourself?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for May 17, 2009:
When I read this question, I had to laugh. This is such a "yes and at the same time, no" scenario for me. Yes, I have a hard time asserting myself...for myself and my own interests. But, look out if it's my "people" (family, friends, subordinates, dogs...etc.) that are in a situation requiring my assertiveness, I am able to rise to the occasion quite admirably. (Quite scarily, if sundry reports can be trusted...)
