This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for February 04, 2009:
When one hears the phrase "classical music," a visual image of portly gentlemen in powdered wigs is conjured. However, classical music is not just mathematical and "boring" in nature. I remember when I first heard Aaron Copland's "Appalachian Spring." I was fourteen years old, and the first few notes captivated me
and enthralled, I listened to the music's story of a mountain sunrise...a thunderstorm...playful animals...a mountain sunset. I realized at that moment the power of music; emotion, power, passion, impressionism. Music truly is another language...the universal language.
